‘I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food’ W C Fields
In the age of Instagram, stunning food and drink imagery is essential to stand out in this crowded market. Being realistic, very few people have the budget to have professional photos taken on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, and have to resort to taking them themselves. Your social media feed needs to reflect the passion, care and attention that goes into your business – whether thats showcasing your venue, the fresh ingredients used, the daily specials, or trying to convey the atmosphere and clientele that visit. You can achieve this yourselves, simply by using your smartphone camera.
Tell a story
Instagram gives you a platform to tell your food and/or drink story. You are not just promoting your menu, product or cooking school – you are selling a lifestyle. As Charlie McVeigh, Bar and Restaurant Investor on the Million Pound Menu says, ‘We are all fascinated by where [the food] comes from… [and] we are very interested in the background of the people who cook it’.
How it works
I come to your place of work – whether that’s a large restaurant or your kitchen table – and I show you how to set up, shoot and edit your images, all on your smartphone. We look at keeping your images ‘on brand’, so they have the same look and feel as your website, keeping it consistent across all your social media channels.
Although I am based in London and Hertfordshire, I travel extensively all over the country delivering my food and drink sessions. Prices start at £195 plus travel expenses.
